LIMA

We anticipate helping approximately 1500 young men and women begin their preparations to serve LDS missions by providing assistance in filling out missionary papers, haircuts, missionary photos, blood and urine tests, missionary medical exams, vision exams, and dental hygiene training.

Volunteers

Our team will be made up of approximately 60 volunteers. The estimated numbers of medical professionals and other volunteers needed are:

• 11 physicians
• 2 opthamalogists
• 2 nurses
• 3-4 medical lab technicians
• 2-3 volunteers to give haircuts
• Other volunteers to staff the medical clinic areas

Medical professionals are encouraged (but not required) to bring a trained assistant and/or family members to assist in the clinic. This will enable us to be as efficient as possible in this large endeavor.

Although Spanish language skills are a nice benefit, volunteers do not need to be able to speak Spanish to join an expedition.

Excursion: Machu Picchu

At the conclusion of our 5-day clinic, we will tour Peru’s Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains, above the Urubamba River Valley.
